Speakers' Profiles
Mr Winston Lum, Portfolio Manager, Nikko AM Asia Limited

Mr Winston Lum is a portfolio manager and senior member of the Asian equity team at Nikko AM Asia based in Singapore. With 30 years of experience in the financial industry, he manages absolute return balanced mandates and relative return mandates for institutional clients as well as unit trusts. He is also responsible for a major US-based equity advisory account and is in charge of managing the Nikko AM Singapore STI ETF. Prior to his current appointment, Winston was a senior equity analyst at the firm, covering the financial sector (including banks, insurance companies, brokers and exchanges) in the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to joining Nikko AM Asia in 2010, Winston spent more than 12 years with Nomura Research Institute and Nomura Singapore Ltd, where he worked as a senior equity analyst. During his tenure at Nomura, he covered several sectors but specialised in the financials sector. Prior to that, he was a sell-side analyst with various brokers and an auditor with Price Waterhouse.

Mr Phillip Yeo, Head of International Product, Nikko AM Asia Limited

Mr Phillip Yeo heads the International Product Development team at Nikko Asset Management, where he oversees product units based in Singapore as well as Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Japan. The teams reporting to Phillip administer the entire Nikko AM suite of fund products domiciled outside Japan – comprising funds in Luxembourg, the Cayman Islands, Mauritius,
Hong Kong and Singapore, and including ETFs listed on the Singapore Exchange

Phillip has been with the firm for more than 10 years, and brings with him over 20 years of experience in the finance and investment sector including corporate banking, private equity investing, sell-side research and corporate acquisitions. Over the past decade, as the Head of Product Development and Management in the Singapore office, he was responsible for leading the initiative to streamline and rationalise the suite of unit trust products Singapore through a fund merger and reshaping programme. He contributed to the firm’s growth in AUM through the launch of new products and under his leadership, the average AUM per fund doubled as the number of funds was streamlined down from
approximately 55 to 40.
